Job Description:

The Associates of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Stanbridge University is seeking a part-time faculty member. The applicant will teach PTA students the fundamentals of pediatric physical therapy as well as teach across the curriculum as needed and within their areas of expertise. The pediatrics primary instructor is responsible for teaching PTA students in didactic (theory) material as well as hands-on lab material as well as coordinating with their other lab instructors to deliver material in a clear and consistent manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Work effectively with diverse populations
  • Available two days a week at our Alhambra, CA campus, Mondays 8am - 3:30pm and Fridays 8am - 5:30pm for class starting July 12th, 2021.
  • Effectively delivers class instruction utilizing course syllabi and materials that are provided.
  • Delivers learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement while effectively planning and preparing for instruction and student success.
  • Promotes student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process.
  • Assesses student work in a timely fashion and conveys feedback to students.
  • Manages the learning environment by keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and administering academic and attendance policies.
  • Relates professional/life/industry experience to learning by the continuation of professional/technical skills development, the introduction of industry perspective into courses, and the active awareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities.
  • Updates online student portal with handouts, PowerPoints, and assessments based on current concepts and evidence-based medicine.
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with State and Federal regulations as well as University policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and term wrap-up meetings.


  • Clinical experience working with pediatrics in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation is required.
  • A current license to practice as a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant in the state of California
  • A minimum of an Associates of Science Physical Therapist Assistant; Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy preferred
  • A minimum of four (4) years of documented full-time clinical experience as a physical therapist or a minimum of four (4) years of documented full-time clinical experience as a physical therapy assistant.
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills
  • Experience in physical therapy education preferred
