Job Description:

The Speech-Language Pathology Program Director is responsible for promoting a culture of educational effectiveness and excellence, with demonstrated student learning outcomes and student success. The Program Director will report directly to the Vice President of Instruction and is accountable for all aspects of administration and management of the program including curriculum and assessment, student progression and retention, faculty oversight, and program effectiveness and student satisfaction. A successful candidate will meet the required qualifications and present with a teaching and professional philosophy that is aligned with the universitys core values of delivering an accessible, diversified, innovative, and high-quality education

Essential Functions:

  • Advances the universitys and Speech-Language Pathology programs mission and objectives through systematic evaluation of student learning and advancement of learning outcomes.
  • Oversees Speech-Language pathology faculty recruitment, qualifications, development, and evaluation according to institutional and accreditation guidelines.
  • Provides leadership to speech pathology faculty for the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of the programs curriculum plan in accordance with institutional and accreditation guidelines and ensures appropriate resources for program delivery.
  • Establishes clinical practice sites and educates and maintains preceptors/clinical sites
  • Leads and manages the programmatic evaluation of the Speech-Language Pathology program with program faculty.
  • Participates in shared governance of the institution.
  • Monitors all program publications to ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation guidelines.
  • Generates needed communications, reporting, changes, and representations with accreditation commissions and agencies.
  • Serves as Speech-Language Pathology faculty in the programs courses.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A terminal degree with a major emphasis in major emphasis in speech-language pathology, audiology, or in speech, language, and hearing science from an accredited university.
  • Must hold an unencumbered California license as a speech-language pathologist.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience with program leadership.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience as a full-time faculty.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Action oriented, innovative thinking, and flexible.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work within a deadline-oriented environment
