Common Questions and Guidelines

In order to continue to promote the health and safety of students, staff, and faculty, the below scenarios and guidelines have been written to address our community’s most common questions.

Current COVID-19 Guidelines

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are effective at helping protect against severe disease and death from variants of the virus that causes COVID-19 currently circulating.

The university strongly encourages all staff, faculty, and students to obtain vaccination and stay up to date with recommended boosters. To better understand COVID-19 vaccines and your vaccination status, please carefully review:

Face Coverings

While face coverings are no longer required on campus, the university strongly recommends use during close contact, regardless of vaccination status. The university has the expectation that its academic community will respect the personal choices that individuals make regarding the use of the face coverings.

COVID-19 Exposure

It is recommended that individuals exposed to COVID-19 closely follow the California Department of Public Health’s guidelines, including testing within 3-5 days after last exposure, wearing a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days, and monitoring for symptoms.

COVID-19 Symptoms

Individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should contact their healthcare provider and take a COVID-19 test as soon as possible. If the test confirms a positive case, individuals should follow the below guidelines for COVID-19 Positive Test. If negative, wear a face mask until symptoms subside.

COVID-19 Positive Test

Staff, faculty, and students who test positive are not permitted on campus. Students should notify the university by emailing [email protected] for current return to campus protocols and consult their healthcare provider for further guidance.
