Financial Aid Process Completion Deadline: 14 days from acceptance (if eligible), or from date of first Financial Aid meeting, whichever comes later.

Learn about the FAFSA

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the application used to determine your eligibility for federal financial aid, including grants, student loans, and work-study. Schools and states may also use your FAFSA to award additional aid.

FAFSA Application Deadline: 3 days before your first Financial Aid meeting

Visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to apply. Please add the following school code for Stanbridge University.

Set Up Your FSA ID

If you haven’t already, visit www.studentaid.gov to create your FSA ID. This is required in order to complete and submit a FAFSA.

If your FAFSA requires parent or other contributor information, they will also need to create an FSA ID at www.studentaid.gov.

Complete All FAFSA Applications

Please complete the FAFSA at least three days before your first Financial Aid meeting. Visit https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to apply. Please add the following school code for Stanbridge University.

Set Up Your Student Portal

Please activate your Stanbridge Student Portal account prior to your first Financial Aid meeting by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to portal.stanbridge.edu
  2. Log in using your User ID number or email address and password.
  3. If you need to reset your password, please click “Forgot your password?”

Get Ready for Your First Financial Aid Meeting

Your first Financial Aid appointment will take about 1 hour. Your Admissions Representative will email you the Zoom meeting ID and password before your appointment.

Before your meeting:

  • Join from a computer or laptop (not a phone, if possible)
  • Find a quiet place where you can focus without distractions
  • Avoid joining while driving, working, or running errands
  • Update your Zoom app before the meeting

During the appointment, you'll review your financial aid options, complete required documents, share your screen if needed, and electronically sign forms.

What to Bring

Have the last two years of your taxes and W2's available. If you're married, please have your spouse's information available as well. For dependent students, have your parent's taxes and W2's available.

Your first Financial Aid meeting will be approximately 1 hour long. Your Admissions Representative will email you the Zoom meeting ID and password. Log into the Zoom meeting at the scheduled time and have access to a computer readily available, as you may need to complete online forms.

Federal Financial Aid Programs

Stanbridge University has the following federal financial aid programs available to those who qualify.

  • Federal Pell Grants
  • Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan
  • Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
  • Federal Direct Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)

Cal Grants

Stanbridge University also participates in Cal Grants. Cal Grants are awarded to those who qualify by the California Student Aid Commission. Read more about these options in the Stanbridge University Catalog and at csac.ca.gov.

Veterans Educational Benefits

Stanbridge University proudly supports veterans, active-duty service members, and eligible dependents through VA educational benefits programs. We currently accept several VA benefit chapters, including:

  • Chapter 33 – Post-9/11 GI Bill®
  • Chapter 31 – Veteran Readiness & Employment (VR&E)
  • Chapter 35 – Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA)

To determine eligibility and benefit coverage, students must provide a valid Certificate of Eligibility (COE) prior to certification.

Students using Chapter 31 (VR&E) benefits are responsible for contacting their assigned VA counselor each term to obtain an updated authorization or PO number. Stanbridge University cannot certify enrollment until authorization is received from the VA.

Learn about the CADAA

Students who are undocumented or from a mixed-status family may complete the CADAA by verifying basic personal, household, residency, and income information, and by ensuring they meet California Dream Act/AB 540 eligibility requirements. They should also submit any required school documents and monitor their student portal for updates or corrections.
